By Rachelle Norry, International Alumni Manager – East Asia, the University of Edinburgh
The final alumni event of our China and East Asia trip took place in Singapore.
Around 60 alumni were present at the event which was attended by a mix of recent graduates and established business contacts from the region.
Professor James Smith, Vice-Principal International, and Professor Sue Welburn, Vice Principal Global Access, addressed the topics of scientific research and social investment.
As with Hong Kong and Shanghai, It was great to see such a mixed demographic of people at the event, all engaging with the University and reminiscing over their time in Scotland.
An important part of our alumni activity wherever we go is to make sure that we engage alumni from a variety of different backgrounds.
We have 10,000 alumni across the region and we met some fantastic people in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.
We encourage our alumni to stay in touch with the University and we hope that as a result of our events and our continued engagement, everyone can do their bit to promote our teaching, research excellence and the Edinburgh student experience around the world.
We’ll be back again soon!
